Modeling Engineers at Typhoon HIL are technical experts focused on real-time Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulation and testing, and digital controls for power systems. In this position, you will work on the development of the software environment and components needed for real-time simulation in power systems applications. Besides that, you will work directly with Typhoon HIL customers (Fortune 500 companies) to help them create hardware in the loop simulation setup for their products.
In Typhoon, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team, where you will work closely with power electronics/systems engineers, hardware, software, firmware engineers, and business developers. If you are a highly motivated and self-driven engineer, willing to tackle tough technical challenges you will be able to grow with the company.
Responsibilities:
- Developing models of power electronics components and electrical machines
- Developing software modules to support simulation of power electronics components
- Working closely with hardware and firmware engineers to improve the capabilities of a real-time simulation platform
- Supporting customer projects on power electronics and transportation electrification systems
- Developing test and test automation scripts for controllers
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering/Control systems or related field
- Experience and/or passion for power electronics and/or electrical machines
- Experience and/or passion for digital controls and embedded systems
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Must enjoy working in a team
- Knowledge of Python and C is a plus
- Knowledge of English language is required (B1)
