Japan Business Development Manager for e-Mobility is directly responsible for leading Japan sales and business development activities in Typhoon HIL. The role is directly responsible for defining and implementing the strategic plan for further expansion of Typhoon HIL into the Japan market, supporting the the product development roadmap and reporting to the Japan GM, and works closely with the application engineers.
Typhoon HIL is the technology and market leader in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) solutions and Model-Based Engineering (MBE) tools for power electronics, e-Mobility, electric vehicles, and power systems. Typhoon HIL’s platform ushered a new era of model-based testing and validation of control software and hardware with its embedded, ultra-high fidelity real-time HIL platform. We are a fast-growing company with big ambitions with offices Boston (USA), Novi Sad (Serbia), Wettingen (Switzerland), Vancouver (Canada), Florianopolis (Brazil), and now Japan, and are constantly growing and strengthening our team.
Responsibilities:
- Leading Japan e-Mobility/Power Electronics, Grid, Academia sales activities in Typhoon HIL
- Responsible for Japan sales results
- Works with distributors to manage channels
- Expand the business in not only e-Mobility but also DC fast charger testing, Battery Management System Testing
- Develop and implement individual sales targets and compensation plans
- Oversee pilot programs with new customers and new solutions
- Managing key accounts, negotiating with main key accounts, understanding key account needs and development opportunities, and effectively aligning key accounts with Typhoon HIL’s business roadmaps
- Work with external third parties to assess partnering opportunities, Identify new opportunities: e-Mobility test equipment manufacturers, EV manufacturers and suppliers both OEM’s and Tier1’s, EV charging station manufacturers, engineering service providers etc.
- Build and promote long-term relationships in order to maximize value for our commercial partners
- Report to the GM on progress in sales and business development
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of sales and business development experience in relevant (electrical engineering, power electronics) field
- Undergraduate degree or higher in economics proof of exceptional skills in related fields, with practical business development experience
- Previous experience in account development or inside B2B sales experience is a plus
- Experienced leader of sales and business development teams and also a strong hunter, personal contributor
- Bilingual – English at business level and Japanese at native level
- Strong track record in developing and growing sales in automotive business (car OEM, Tier1, etc.)
- Must be self starter, driven, and growth oriented
- Experienced team leader with ability to work as a team with application engineers
- Experienced in successfully obtaining results through functional, not hierarchical relationships.
- Ability to travel domestically with some international travel
