This demo focuses on the functionalities of the Battery cell component, found in the Typhoon HIL Schematic Editor library. Working principles, parameterization possibilities, and parameter dependencies are discussed in detail. Several parametrization best practices are covered, which should be used in conjunction with the component documentation for best results. This video is ideal for anyone encountering this component for the first time.
In the Typhoon HIL Control Center, you can try out BMS testing yourself with the Battery Management System example model, available in the Examples Explorer.
Not covered in this video are the extensions made available with the 2025.3 Software release, which features several new features for the Battery Cell component that provide more parameterization flexibility and optimize resource use. This release also included a new Battery Pack component, built for letting you quickly build a complete battery pack model using the Battery Cell component described here, using the same parameterization. You can see a walkthrough of these feature updates as part of the 2025.3 Software Release New Features Walkthrough.
