Setting up a USB connection

This section describes the procedure for installing HIL USB Drivers on various Windows operating systems.

Plug in your HIL device to a USB port on your PC. It is recommended to use a USB 3.0 port if available.

USB drivers are automatically installed with Typhoon HIL Control Center software version 1.0.7 or later. If you have an older version, please update the software.

During the installation of the Typhoon HIL Control Center software, you may be prompted with a warning message (Windows 7/8/8.1/10, Figure 1). On Windows 7/8/8.1/10 you should click on Install this driver software anyway .

On Windows Vista/7/8/8.1/10 systems, drivers will be automatically installed when you first connect the HIL40x/60x, and other user actions won’t be required. During the installation and when the installation finishes, Windows Vista/7 will show a small tool-tip in the lower right corner of the screen (Figure 2 and Figure 3) and Windows 8/8.1/10 will display dialog shown on Figure 4.
