General guidelines

Description of the general guidelines when using Typhoon Test Hub.

Clocks synchronization

Typhoon Test Hub stores and processes all datetime information in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) to ensure consistency across time zones. When displayed in the application pages, these values are adjusted to the local time zone as determined by the user’s PC settings. The only exception to this are textual logs that are collected during executions (e.g., logs of TyphoonTest testing sessions). These logs are generated on external computers and contain datetime values which are in formats that are defined by the tools (software) that generate them and are embedded inside logs. These datetime values cannot be processed and adjusted by Typhoon Test Hub. Hence, all logs are shown in the original condition. Therefore, if the logs contain datetime values, they are usually displayed according to the timezone settings of the computer that generated them. In order to have all datetime values aligned to a single time zone, it is advised to set the same time zone to all computers that are used for accessing TyphoonTest Hub and running agents.
