Hello, I am working on a grid-connected (grid-following) inverter model in Typhoon HIL, which includes a DC link, a three-phase inverter, an LCL filter, and the grid.

I would like to replace the standard grid voltage source with a Signal-Controlled Sinusoidal Voltage Source in order to impose a time-varying grid frequency.

I have real frequency event data (time vs frequency) stored in an Excel file, and my goal is to use this data as input for the frequency port (f) of the source during the simulation.

My questions are:

1. What is the recommended way to import and use time-series data from Excel in Typhoon HIL (e.g., using a Look-Up Table or another method)?

2. What is the best way to feed this data into the three-phase (vector) input of the source while ensuring consistency in the simulation (sampling, execution rate, etc.)?

Any guidance or examples would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Alexis,

You can consider using Dynamic table component (documentation) and connect its output to the input of the signal-controlled sinusoidal source (doc).

I would also consider using the API to "program the frequency values over time" in case you're looking at some linear segments and the frequency-over-time curve isn't very complex.
