Internship – Power Systems / Power Electronics Engineer

Application Engineers at Typhoon HIL are part of a multidisciplinary, international team of technical experts focused on real-time Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulation and testing, and advanced digital controls for power electronics. In this position you will work directly with Typhoon HIL customers to educate them on new ways to design, prototype, and test power electronics control systems. At the same time, you will build relationship with their engineers and product managers and help them create tailored test solutions to improve the quality of their control systems and design processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical support and engineering services to customers.
  • Providing in-person and online presentations and training relating to HIL technology.
  • Developing models of power electronic circuits, power systems, and controllers.
  • Writing white papers and technical notes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Passion for creative problem solving, demonstrating an ability to understand problems and solve them within given constraints.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals.
  • Good interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to audiences of various skill and experience levels.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience with Python and C/C++ preferred.
  • Experience with Git version control a plus.
